Hello Tom,

Thanks for your note and the Naples Daily News story from December. It’s hard to believe that 18 years have passed since our initial meeting on the morning of September 11, 2001. Thanks for including me in the trip down memory lane for the story you wrote. I am glad we got the opportunity to work together and develop a friendship that has resulted in your continued success in Naples.  As a way of an update, Tracy and I have been living near Austin, Texas for almost four years and we may have found our permanent home in the Texas Hill Country, outside of Austin. I was the first employee of the new Fairmont Austin, which opened back in March of this year, in the heart of the vibrant Central Business District of Austin. We are looking forward to some form of retirement in the next few years, but not in a hurry to get out of the business.

You played an important role in the upbringing of Alex and we will always be grateful for your support and guidance in his development as a young man. We all should be proud of his golf accomplishments, which include the 2014 Arizona Amateur Champion, Pac-12 Men’s Golf Student Athlete of the Year and the Billy Mayflower Award for low scoring average in Arizona (2014) as well as playing in two U.S. Amateur Publinks and one U.S. Amateur Championship. Tomorrow, Alex starts a new job, working in Asset Management for J.P. Morgan in New York City. He is planning on being reinstated as an Amateur golfer and competing in some of New York State Amateur events once he gets settled. His wife, Megan, who teaches Elementary Education will join him in May after the school year. Our daughter, Emma is a R.N. working at the University Medical Center in Tucson. We are extremely proud of the three of them.

Best wished to you, Denise and PJ for another great season in Naples.

Mike
