Set the order of your students’ priorities for more effective golf instruction (Part 6, Conclusion)
.
Spoke No. 6: Mechanics, the mainstay of the traditional golf lesson.
Originally, I listed the conventional
golf lesson – the nuts and bolts of mechanics – as Spoke No. 1. But after exploring the other five spokes,
I soon came to realize that mechanics needed to be the last one. It’s still important, but the other five spokes must be in place before addressing technique.
These six spokes really allow
students to develop their overall
game – mental game and physical.
A golf professional isn’t Houdini on the practice tee, but a set of trained eyes and a source of pertinent information can steer students to
a better golf game with this logical approach.
