Set the order of your students’ priorities for more effective golf instruction (Part 5)
.
Spoke No. 5: Time management – a practice routine.
Most students have demands on their time – a job, a family, other interests – that in many cases don’t allow them to spend nearly as much time as they
would like, or perhaps need, to develop
a realistic expectation in their own mind. So I frequently counsel students to
help them understand what their time restrictions will allow them to accomplish on a daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal basis.
Spoke No. 3, statistically understanding your golf game, allows Spoke No.5, the development of time management and
a practice routine, to have its greatest possible effect. Using facts to plot,
chart, and create time management and a practice routine that targets specific problem areas, I can apply a greater percentage of time to the areas where
a student needs the most work.
