A golfer’s guide to the course (Part 5)

NO. 13: 194 YARDS, PAR 3
This medium-length hole might very well give the boys fits. The green is very narrow from front to back. Very difficult to get the yardage right. The green also sits on a slight diagonal. Bunker, front right. Water short right and long gets your attention. The back right pin looks like it is in the lake from the back tee. The green is very slopey and produces some interesting roles.
NO. 14: 555 YARDS, PAR 5
This hole has a generous driving area, then you need to think. Water creeps in big on left side. Fairway bunker on second shot is very much in play. Green built against the lake left, so the bombers who want to go need to hit a quality shot. If laying up, you need to get layup to yardage correct, and set up the right angle for approach shot.
NO. 15: 205 YARDS, PAR 3
If they play this all the way back, and the wind blows, bring your seat belt. A forced carry over 200 yards to
a green with water surrounding it on three sides. The rock wall that support the green stares you in the mug from the tee. Yes, you can bail right, but the pitch or bunker shot you will incur from there has you staring back into the water. This is a very dramatic hole. The grandstands behind this green could be a great place
to park it for a while.
