Hi Tom….enjoyed meeting you yesterday and enjoyed the lesson.  Looking forward to our next lesson on April 7.  Tom, I played right after our lesson.  Now I’ve taken lessons in the past and have been told to get closer to the ball, just as you did.  But, making that part of my routine….posture, distance from ball, club face position, target focus, etc. made a huge difference.  I always wiggle back to my comfortable “too far from the ball” position, without even thinking about it….you know, I just end up there.  But by making all that part of my routine on every shot, it just takes a few seconds, I was able to maintain an uncomfortable position for the entire round….and I hit a lot of good golf shots.  This I can say with certainty, I was into the dirt on every iron shot without thinking about going down after it.  I missed some a little right and a little left….but just a little.  I didn’t hit any thin shots.  And, I hit a number of really good tee shots….I felt like I could go after it a little harder with the ball a little closer to me.  I hit 2 tee balls in the heel area….but straight and serviceable.
I putted poorly and shot 79….going to keep working on the routine.
