TOM PATRI GOLF SERVICES

I am a 70-year-old who has played golf since I was twelve and maintained roughly a three—four handicap over that period (though, of course, I play from shorter tees these days). I have always had a habit of coming out of my posture (raising my head and chest at impact), which changes my spine angle. As Tom has pointed out, it is impossible to make consistent contact with this much movement. I can often compensate for the spine angle movement, but it has caused inconsistent scores and inconsistent contact with the ball. (My misses are fat pulls or thin blocks to the right). I have tried many “cures,” but none has worked. In three lessons over a course of only two weeks, Tom has transformed my swing into one that is now producing consistent dynamic impact with the ball, with nice full divots and no more thin hits. Here is what I like best about Tom’s teaching style: he zeroes in on the one or two most important things that you need to address, and then he lays out a practice regimen with specific drills to help you make the change. This teaching/coaching style fits very well with a left-brainer like me who would otherwise be hopping around from one fix to another. Tom won’t let you do that—he makes you stay focused. There’s a reason why he has won so many best teacher awards.
