Short chip shots make up 10 to 15 percent of the strokes you take during a round. It is important to understand the fundamentals of the setup and the swinging motion for these shots.

The basic of the setup for a chip shot are:
1.  Slightly open stance
2.  Weight slightly favoring left side
3.  Shaft of the club leaning slightly toward your target.

The basics of the chipping motion are:
1.  Minimal tension in your body, especially your hands
2.  A natural hinging of the wrists, created by the weight of the
….clubhead, in the backswing
3.  Maintain the wrist angles created in the backswing through
