Learn the feeling of a balanced address and finish
for more consistent shots (Part 3, Conclusion)

Know Your Speed Limit
Having ingrained a balanced address and finish, you’re ready to focus on pacer–the final component of a balanced swing. No matter how good your address is, if you swing too fast you won’t stay balanced to the finish. Here are ways to find your speed limit.

Once again, take two large range buckets and stand on them as shown. Set up in a balanced address position and slowly make a swing, finishing in a balanced position. The buckets will rock if your swing gets out of balance. Work up to faster swings until you begin to lose balance: You’ve found your speed limit.
To raise your speed limit with out sacrificing balance, practice swinging with your eyes closed: You’ll feel when you sway. Focus on rotating your body around its center as you move from address to finish. Start slowly and work up to the fastest swing you can consistently make without losing balance.
Another good balance drill is to hit an entire bucket of practice balls or to play an entire round holding your finish until each shot hits the ground. If you can do this, you are swinging in balance and are well on your way to better shots and lower scores.
