Tom not only elevated teaching at Westchester Country Club, he truly es­tablished the position of Director of Instruction.  His schedule includes over 1,000 individual lessons each year and he is responsible for the entire teaching program at a club which annually pro­duces some of the finest juniors, se­niors, ladies and men amateurs in the entire area. Each year when the Buick Classic comes to Westchester Country Club, Tom emcees the Junior Golf Day Clinic working with such luminaries as Fred Couples, John Daly, Tiger Woods and Peter Jacobsen among others. At Bellport Country Club, where Tom served prior to Westchester, Fred Couples annually presented a joint clinic at the Village Course with Tom. In addition to speaking at the PGA Crackerbarrel and the 3 day PGA Work­ shop at TPC Scottsdale, Tom has been the guest teacher at both Indiana and Middle Atlantic Section Seminars. In­credibly, Tom also finds time to present 10-15 corporate workshops each sea­son with a client list that reads like a Fortune 500. He has appeared 3 times on the Golf Channel Academy Live and annually is one of the lead instructors for the Metropolitan PGA Junior Golf School.  He also helped host a Johnny Miller seminar that was part of the very first Met PGA Junior Golf Awards Lun­cheon and has brought such talent as the legendary Bill Strausbaugh, Peter Croker and Fred Shoemaker among others to Section  programs.

Tom Patri is also the author of The Six Spoke Approach to Better Golf Learning. This unique concept not only pulls together important concepts of teaching, but some of the keys to being a success in any walk of life. The Six Spoke Approach philosophy is as valu­able and easy to implement at the club level for a casual student as it is for a more intense student working at Tom’s winter golf schools in Florida.

From the PGA Tour, Tom has instructed Len Mattiace and Seve Ballasteros. From the LPGA Tour, Tom has instructed Laurie Rinker Graham, Melissa McNamara, Missie Berteotti, Cathy Johnston Forbes, Val Skinner and Hiroshi Kobayashi. Tom also has and continues to work with a number of the top Met Section professionals.
