Set the order of your students’ priorities for more effective golf instruction (Part 3)
.
Spoke No. 3: Analysis with perspective.
With the aid of Peter Sanders at Golf Research Associates in Stamford, Conn., people are able to chart their rounds, their shot patterns, and their tendencies in a very clear, concise and detailed manner. Numbers don’t lie. People will come to me and say, “You know, my putting’s bad, my iron play’s bad, my driving’s bad.” But when we chart their rounds and their tendencies, we often find out that the problem isn’t what they think it is. It’s often difficult for players to be objective about their own game.
(By helping students analyze their game objectively with pertinent
information, you can help them make progress.)
