If someone had told you 10 years ago that a player in The Masters was going to hit wedge into 15 on Masters Sunday, oh and one more thing, it was a wedge second shot NOT a third shot to the famed Par 5, what would your response have been? Crazy stuff! Insane distances.

I have to admit the driving clinic Bubba Watson put on was awesome. Do you remember where he hit it in comparison to Jordan Spieth on number 9 Sunday. Allow me to refresh your memory. Bubba air mailed Spieth by 50 yards!! 50!! Please allow me to add Spieth is no bunter, he can flat hit it. Bubba was bombs away.

All that said, here is the bottom line of how The 2014 Masters was both won and lost this past week. Young phenom Jordan Spieth 3 whacked 8 and 9 Sunday when he really needed to keep the heat on Big Bubba.
He did not! At the same juncture, Bubba was in the middle of a round of golf that included 11 one putt greens at Augusta. DID YOU HEAR ME 11 ONE PUTT GREENS!!  AT  A U G U S T A !!  11!!  ON SUNDAY!!

When you drive it 330 to 350 yards down the fairway and have 11 one putt greens on Masters Sunday it’s a pretty fair bet your wardrobe may very likely include a spot of green later in the day.

This event also allowed the American public a glimpse of a human ATM machine. Mr. Jimenez is just that. If you had never seen MAJ play before, or had never heard of him, he clearly beats to his own drum. Let me say this he can flat out golf his ball. 50 years old, not very long off any tee box, and his idea of practicing after play includes a fine red, and an equally fine Cuban. If he decides to play our Champions Tour he will need a Brinks truck to get from city to city.

Last but not at all least in my heart is my old friend Fred Couples. He pulled on our heart strings again. Simply amazing talent. I have watched his act, up close, for the better part of 34 years and he still amazes me. The grace and beauty of that motion never gets old.  Keep going Fred we want to watch more!

Mr. Jones got it right a long time back. What a creation, what an event, what a privilege to watch each and every year.

PS – Jordan Spieth has a Green Jacket in his future. Mark that down.
