Putting is documented to be 43% of the game of golf, yet how many of you dedicate 43% of your practice time to putting ?! There are two basic aspects of putting that must be understood: Distance and Direction. Distance is the length and pace of your stroke. Direction is the face and path of your stroke.

Distance is simply practice; your ability to lag the ball and control speed. Set two tees on a green about 30 feet apart and simply practice lagging several balls back and forth, trying to feel and control the length and pace of your stroke to manage the distance.
